Jim Boyce

Jim Boyce, along with his family, lived in Guildwood, and was one of the first members of the new Kiwaniwood Tennis Club (now the Guildwood Tennis Club) that opened in 1970.

Jim went on to have an extensive and impressive history in tennis:
- as a teenager, he served as captain of the Canadian team for the World Junior Championships;
- he won 5 National Junior Championship titles.

He was awarded a full tennis scholarship to Mississippi State University and he was an all South Eastern Conference player.

As an adult, Jim was:
- The Canadian Men's singles and doubles champion in 197
- Competitor on the Canadian Davis Cup team
- 19-time national champion
- He also represented Canada once again as a member of the Over-55 team during the 2009 Austria Cup in Mallorca, Spain.

Jim's credentials extend to coaching as well.
- He has been a certified Level 3 coach since 1984;
- The coach of the Canadian National team at the World Junior Championships in 1983 and 1985
- Awarded Team Canada's coach of the Year for Grassroots Development in 1989.

Some of Jim's other accomplishments include:
- Chair of the 1980 Davis Cup Tie
- Senior Tennis Professional at Toronto Lawn Tennis Club (1980 to 1990)
- Board member of Sport 4 Ontario as well as Sport Alliance of Ontario
- Chair of the Doug Philpott Inner-City Children's Fund which provides kids in need with free tennis lessons and equipment.

Jim took on the position of Chair of the Central Region on the Ontario Tennis Association in 1996. He was Executive Director for marketing in 1997, where he was the project leader of the first web-based dynamic ranking system in Canada (Baseline), which was completed in 2002 and is used by all provincial tennis associations across the country and by Tennis Canada.
He currently is responsible for the overall management of the Ontario Tennis Association, with a specific focus on the establishment and enhancement of the OTA's revenue streams.

Jim's illustrious career and his dedication to the game of tennis makes him a very worthy inductee to the Guildwood Tennis Club's Hall of Fame.

Victor Krustev

Our Club is proud to have served as the home base for Victor Krustev to first learn how to play tennis.He began playing tennis at the age of 4 at Guildwood Tennis Club, under the tutelage of the Club Pro, Marina Pereira.He started to play OTA tournaments when he was 7 years old. In 2008 he won the first edition of the Roman Cup in Ottawa. At the age of 9, Victor was invited to join Tennis Canada under the guidance of Bob Brett, Guram Kostava, Guillaume Marx and other best coaches.

Victor went on to play in many international tournaments in Europe, North America, South America, and Central America:

- He was a finalist at the ITF G4 Junior event in Vancouver

- He took home the doubles trophy at the G5 tournament in Edmonton

- He reached the doubles' Semifinals at the ITF Pan-American championships in Tulsa.

- He took home top honours in singles and doubles at the U14 Bambini Cup in Austria.

- One of his best success was at the prestigious Open Super 12 in Auray, France - he was a finalist in singles and doubles.

- He was OTA Champion in singles and doubles.

His most notable achievements were winning the U12, U14, U16 and U18 Canadian National Championships singles as well as doubles. Victor follows in the footsteps of other great Canadian tennis players such as Milos Raonic, Eugenie Bouchard, Vasek Pospisil, Denis Shapovalov and other great players who have won the same event.U12, U14, U16 and U18 Canadian National ChampionshipsHis most notable achievements were winning the 


Victor's favourite shot is the forehand; his favourite players are Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer.

After graduating high school from Bill Crother's Secondary School, Victor accepted a full scholarship to play and study at the University of California Santa Barbara in the USA. UCSB is renowned for academic standards and division 1 NCAA tennis team. When he is home in the summer, Victor has played for our A1 team here in Guildwood.
