You asked for it! We listened: Beginning August 9, the Doubles Round Robin is moving from Fridays to Tuesdays, 7-9 pm. Club Championship Tournament 2022

The GTC championships will begin on August 17th and wrap-up with finals on September 11th at Member Appreciation Day.

By going to https://www.guildwoodtennis.com/club-events. Players can sign-up for Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Mixed Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Men’s Doubles. Players can compete in more than one event. Players without partners for doubles may sign-up individually and the tournament convenors will help you find a partner.

Interested players must sign-up no later than August 14th. There will be a main draw and a consolation draw so everyone is guaranteed two matches. Preliminary play will begin on August 17th. All preliminary matches must be played by August 24th. Quarter and Semi-finals matches will begin on August 26th. Quarter final matches must be played by August 31st, and semi-final matches by September 9th. Details about match scheduling will be sent to those who sign up.

For matches that are tied after two sets, a ten point “super” tie breaker will be played to decide the winner.

There will be a $10 entry fee per player per event to cover the cost of trophies. The club will provide balls for semi-final and final matches. For preliminary matches, each player will bring new balls. Winners will keep the unused new balls.

Junior Fun Day

Save the date: Saturday, August 20th, 9 am to 1 pm (rain date Sunday, August 21)

Registration and more details will be available online soon. This event is free to junior members.

Memorial Garden

Our new garden is nearly ready for plants. We discovered that the soil provided by the city is a bit deficient in nutrients, so if you have any spare compost or manure, leaf mulch or coffee grounds that you can donate, feel free to bring them to the enclosure or leave in the garden. We are also gratefully accepting your spare perennials such as hosta, echinacea, peony, monarda, daisy, day lily, phlox, spring bulbs. We want this garden to be a happy place that commemorates members who contributed their time and effort to building GTC and making it grow. The club will purchase some foundation plants such as roses, boxwood, and a few flowering shrubs.

National Bank Open, August 6-14
